Geekvape Vape Coil FAQs
What are Geekvape vape coils used for?
Geekvape vape coils are the heating elements inside your Geekvape tank or pod system. They’re responsible for turning e-liquid into vapour, delivering the flavour and cloud production that Geekvape devices are known for.
Each coil is designed to suit specific vaping styles, from tight MTL draws to open, airy direct-to-lung (DTL) inhales.
How often should I change my Geekvape coil?
On average, Geekvape coils last between one and two weeks, depending on how often you vape, the e-liquid you use, and your device settings.
You’ll know it’s time for a replacement if you notice a burnt taste, weaker flavour, or reduced vapour production. Using sweet or dark e-liquids can shorten the lifespan of your coil, while proper priming and moderate wattage settings can help extend it.
How do I prime a new Geekvape coil?
Before using a new coil, add a few drops of e-liquid directly onto the cotton inside the coil to thoroughly saturate it. Then, install the coil, fill your tank or pod, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes before vaping. This process – known as priming – prevents dry hits and helps your coil last longer by ensuring the wick is properly soaked.
Which Geekvape coil is right for me?
The best Geekvape coil depends on your device and vaping style.
Low-resistance mesh coils (e.g. 0.2Ω or 0.4Ω) are ideal for sub-ohm, DTL vaping with dense clouds and intense flavour.
Higher-resistance coils (e.g. 0.8Ω or above) are suited to MTL vaping, offering a tighter draw and more discreet vapour. Always check your device’s recommended coil compatibility before purchasing.
Can I use Geekvape coils with other brands?
Geekvape coils are designed explicitly for Geekvape tanks and pods, so compatibility with other brands is limited.
You can use Geekvape tanks with sub-ohm devices from other brands, as long as they have the same 510 thread connection - allowing you to use Geekvape coils with other branded vape kits.
