Oxva Xlim Pro 3 and Xlim 3 Ultra Review

TL;DR:

Oxva added two more vape kits to its Xlim series, both excellent additions and top contenders for vape kit of the year.

Both kits come with bigger batteries, at 1500 mAh each, and bigger display screens and improved user functionalities. The biggest feature is the Pulse systems, with the Pulse System on the Pro 3 and the Super Pulse on the 3 Ultra.

Overall, both kits are worthy upgrades over previous models, but the Ultra 3 takes the win. With an intuitive touchscreen display and a reliable Super Pulse system, you're getting outstanding flavour production until the last puff, and plenty of settings to adjust to make the device truly yours.

The time has come again for the release of brand new devices in the Xlim series of vape kits from the world-renowned Oxva brand. This time, we have the Xlim Pro 3 and 3 Ultra to test out and see if they’re worth the upgrade.

Pod vape kits have evolved immensely over the years, as we’ve seen with the Xlim Pro 2 DNA last year, featuring Anti-Burn tech and Flavour Replay. At first glance, this new era of the Xlim series focuses more on the device and user functionality than on the pods and flavours - bigger screens and new themes, but that doesn’t mean flavour optimisation has diminished one bit.

Let’s get into it all and discuss both new devices and see if they are worth the upgrade!

Disclaimer: Oxva sent us the vape kits for review; however, all opinions are our own.

The Oxva Xlim Pro 3

First Glace

When I first got the Xlim Pro 3, it was everything I expected from Oxva: a bigger screen, a bigger battery, and an extremely stylish design. I mean, the leather and carbon finishes are just outstanding. I personally received the Titanium Silk finish, but if I had a choice, I would’ve gone for the Sky Blue colour option, the blue and the white just pop so nicely.

Well, other than the looks, the technology has improved as well. We now get a 1500 mAh battery in both new devices with bigger screens. My initial thought was that the screen would drain the battery quicker, but after testing, you still get a good few days of moderate use from a full charge. This is expected from a battery of that size, but it’s actually quite impressive that it lasts that long with a full-screen display to power, while still providing me with an exceptional vape experience till the battery reaches zero.

The device is heavier than previous models, but I prefer the feel of a heavier device in my hands. It feels premium and sturdy. The kits both come with the Xlim V3 pods in a preinstalled 0.6Ω and a spare 0.8Ω for you to try out and see which one you like better. You can also use the Xlim EZ pods for a top-filling variant with the same coil options, ranging from 0.4Ω to 1.2Ω. I personally use a 0.8Ω pods with 10mg nic salts, which, in my opinion, is perfect for day-to-day vaping to keep cravings at bay and enjoy some delicious flavour blends.

Where the Xlim Pro 3 Wins

After using the device for a week, I really do like it. Of course, with an Oxva device, there won’t be many faults to pick up, and it’s a strong contender for top vape kit of the year (spoiler alert: the 3 Ultra takes the lead).

The themes are cool, and the button functions are easy to get used to. I like that the button is now on the front of the device, rather than on the side. It’s also bigger, feels more like a real button, and is more responsive and easier to use. You can adjust your wattage, clear puffs and change themes all in a couple of clicks.

The button can also be used to fire the device, but I don’t really use it as I prefer just drawing to activate. The key win of the Xlim Pro 3 is the ease of use; they didn’t stray too far from what Oxva users are used to in terms of the user interface and the device's feel. I like this from Oxva, as they’re just improving on what’s already good rather than making drastic changes to the experience.

The airflow control system is excellent, the screen size is ideal, and the button is easy enough to use, even for a beginner. Plus, with the new Pulse System, the device will still deliver 80% flavour consistency even at 20% battery life - this is a real win when you’re out and about, and you’re low on charge without a charger available.

Where the Xlim Pro 3 Lacks

Thankfully, only a couple of things irked me when using the device. The main one being that you cannot turn off the animation whilst you’re taking a puff from the device. You can turn off the light at the bottom of the screen, but not the main animation. This is a bit annoying, as I don’t think many people would ‘need’ a vaping animation, and it’s just using up battery power.

Other than that, I’ve noticed that when the airflow control is fully open, it makes a noticeable whistle. Now, this may just be my device, and hopefully it’s not on all devices, but it’s also an easy fix: just close the airflow a little to reduce it.

Xlim Pro 3 Gets a 4/5 Rating

It truly is a great device and a worthy upgrade from the previous models, especially if you’re a vaper who likes screens and buttons on your device. I personally sit in the middle, where I like to test devices with screens, but day to day, I mainly focus on whether the device delivers optimal flavour.

This model, in particular, absolutely delivers excellent flavour. The UniTech 2.0 brings 50% more flavour and 30% longer use time in the Xlim pods, and is excellent with the Pulse System. The only thing bringing the rating down is that I can’t turn off the vaping animation, but that’s personal. Otherwise, the key things you need from a vape kit are all flawless with this device: flavour replication and a long-lasting battery.

The Oxva Xlim 3 Ultra

First Glance

First thing I noticed when I picked up the Xlim 3 Ultra is the weight, it’s even heavier than the Pro 3! I personally love it; it feels nice and heavy in the hand, which I prefer, as I actually feel like I’m holding something. Other than that, the biggest change is the screen: a 2.2-inch full HD touch screen. I’ve never been a big fan of touchscreen vapes; however, as soon as I started using it, I grew fond of it, especially thanks to the button and the fact that it doesn’t turn on every time you use the kit.

Other than that, you get the same battery size and an improved Super Pulse feature (more on that later).

I got the Ultra Carbon colourway in this kit, which looks really cool, like a racecar design on the back of the kit! As for first impressions, I was excited to use this kit for the week ahead and give it a good go.

Where the Xlim 3 Ultra Wins

I had a much easier time finding the successes of the Ultra 3 as it’s tons better than previous models and even upgrades from the Pro 3. The touchscreen is very easy to get started with and use; I like that you have to unlock it before using it, preventing accidental changes to settings. When unlocked, it’s easy to access the settings and configure them to your liking; my favourite setting is eco mode, which automatically turns off all lights, animations, and vibrations to save battery charge.

With a 1500 mAh battery, Eco Mode is crucial, but Super Pulse mode takes it even further. Even at 1% battery, you’re still getting 100% flavour replication! That is superb and extremely useful. I’ve gotten multiple days of use by enabling the Eco Mode and relying on the Super Pulse to get the best vaping experience without all the extras like a bright screen, vibrations and vaping animations.

The other main thing that I liked was the button and switches. The airflow control system is sturdy and doesn’t whistle when fully open. The button feels even more responsive, and it gives a real click sound when pressed, which I prefer to the Pro 3’s button. The switch on the left-hand side locks and unlocks the button, switching from button firing to draw activation.

I played around a little with button firing, and it’s quite good; you do get a more persistent output with outstanding flavour production and a good level of vapour. Again, I did use the 0.8Ω pods with this kit, and it’s so easy to change the watts and see what level works best; simply unlock the device and swipe left to right on the screen to enter the wattage adjustment screen, then you can either use the ‘+’ and ’-’ signs, or just simply swipe to adjust!

Where the Xlim 3 Ultra Lacks

The only real thing that this device lacks is a bigger battery. Given the advanced technology and numerous features, this kit would greatly benefit from a battery capacity of at least 2000 mAh. The touchscreen and Super Pulse drain a lot of battery, and it’s noticeable when you have all the options enabled, like vibrations, a bright screen, and vape animations. I personally had all of that turned off to save battery, but if you’re buying this kit to use and enjoy the screen, expect to charge the device more often.

Xlim 3 Ultra Gets a 5/5 Rating

This is an outstanding device! As I mentioned before, the only thing I can fault it on is the battery size, but even then, you still get multiple days out of it with all features enabled.

Other than that, the flavour production is superb, and the device's weight, build, and feel are perfect. Those are the main things I focus on when I’m looking for a vape kit, but even with the added extras, I think it’s definitely worth the upgrade from previous models, especially for the Super Pulse feature that lets you enjoy optimal flavour production even at a low battery level.
